Here are Hammie, Fraser and Eleanor lined up for their ride-on-toy race through the kitchen. Those of you who are familiar with our kitchen will find this especially amusing since our lovely galley kitchen is barely three ride-on-toys wide. Luckily there were no violent crashes during the race, and the only crying occurred when I told them they had to put the toys away and head upstairs to get ready for bed. This photo is particularly amusing for a non-race reason too. Eleanor is sitting on Lightening McQueen, the only ride on toy pictured that was not purchased just for her. Lightening McQueen was actually purchased for Fraser for Christmas in 2007. It's really too bad that car doesn't have a working odometer, because it would be fascinating to know how many miles he has been driven through our house in the past 3 years.

On a totally unrelated note, Hammie totally cracked me up today when we were getting ready to head to music class. He asked if Jackson, our dog, could come with us. This isn't as bizarre of a question as it sounds since I often take Jackson in the car with us to pick up Fraser from preschool. So I said no, Jackson couldn't come because it would be too long for him to sit in the car by himself and dogs aren't allowed in music class. Hammie looked a little disappointed and then said "Oh, okay. Is that because they aren't good singers?" What makes this even funnier is that after I retold the story to Andy at the dinner table Hammie asked "So, why aren't dog's good singers?" His mind really does work in some funny ways.
