Just when it starts to feel like spring, we get a few days of icky rainy coldness and Fraser and Hammie start acting like caged animals again. As you can see in the photo of Fraser we are getting pretty desperate for warmer weather. Fraser was wearing a weather appropriate outfit this morning, but decided to get out shorts and a T-shirt and insisted on wearing them around the house.

Today Fraser and Hammie got into a screaming, slapping fight over a piece of the new stomp rocket toy Fraser got from Lynn and Don last weekend. We haven't even been able to use the toy yet, so they have no idea what the tube and squishy block are even for, but that didn't stop them from starting world war three over it. Exactly how long does the "beating up" phase of brotherly love last?

Hammie's speech therapist came today and she had put together a list of the words Hammie is saying now. So far he says Mama, Dada, Uh-Oh, All Done (ah-da), Darcey, Pablo (Da-Do), Dharma (Da-Ma), Dog (Dod), Yes (des), Down (Dow) and Socks (Docks). He also nods his head when he means yes now. Really he nods his entire body from his ankles on up, which I find hysterical.

Fraser has entered a pretty adorable new phase where, when he is not beating up Hammie, he wants to take care of Hammie like a big brother. So whenever we are out he insists on holding Hammie's hand when we are walking and carries on little conversations with Hammie where he fills in the part Hammie is supposed to say. So, for example, "Hold my hand Hammie, why?, because we are in parking lot and there are cars, why?, because cars and dangerous and you could get hurt?, why?, because you are little."

I also told Fraser last week that I'm pregnant and he is going to have a little sister. I think it is safe to say that he doesn't quite grasp the concept since he just looked at me like I was a little bit crazy when I told him I had a baby in my belly. He then peaked under the front of my sweater as though he wanted to confirm that there was not in fact anything living under there. We saw one of the women in my MOMS club who has a 2 week old daughter and I pointed her out to Fraser and said "We are going to have a little girl just like that. Won't it be fun to have a little sister." Fraser just looked skeptical.

So, since we are trapped inside on another lovely rainy day here, and we have already baked dog biscuits, read books, and repaired all the broken toys we could fine, it should about time to bust out the every appealing playdo and spend the next 45 minutes or so yelling "Hammie don't eat that! Yuck!"
