Fraser is very interested these days in where things come from. Not in the sense of "Where do babies come from?" but in the "Where did you get that shirt?" and "Who gave me this tractor?" So one of these questions prompted a conversation about how Andy (Daddy) gave me a necklace when Fraser was born and a ring when Hammie was born.
Yesterday, I was organizing our craft closet and I found a plastic jack-o-lantern necklace that Fraser got in his trick or treat bag last Halloween, but showed no interest in at the time. I showed it to Fraser and he asked to wear it. He then sat at the table playing with some playdo. I walked into the kitchen to get something and when I came back Fraser was having this conversation with himself: "Where did I get this necklace? Oh, Daddy gave me this necklace when Hammie was born." It really is lucky he is so freaking cute sometimes.
Hammie, it turns out, still has the double ear infection he just finished his antibiotics for, so now he is on a new kind of antibiotic which will hopefully finally kill whatever resistant germ has set up shop in his head. He is already in a much better mood today after starting the new stuff last night, so fingers crossed.
And for anyone who may wonder why our much abused pets put up with our children pulling their fur, biting their tails and body slamming them into the carpet, here is a photo of Hammie very generously and thoughtfully allowing the cat to lick the yogurt off his fingers. Kennebec was happy and Hammie thought it was hysterical.
