I had to post this picture of Hammie on the blog just because I truly think it could be the subject of a caption contest. I mean really, what the hell is he doing?? I like "Ahhhhhh! Don't squish me!"

A few people have asked me how Fraser's speech therapy is going, and he is doing very well. He still isn't speaking at an age appropriate level, but he has made amazing progress recently. He now says dog (his first and still favorite word), dada (to refer to Andy), up, down, uh-oh, apple, light, ice, pop pop (a toy) and boats. He even said Hammie yesterday ("ammie!"). He has most recently learned the word "boats" in order to request his favorite video "A Busy Harbor." Notice he does not say "mommy." No mama, no mom, no mother, no Primary Care Giver Who Gave Up Her Career, Her Body, and Her Sanity for me. No. But he says "Boats."

Last weekend Andy took this photo of Fraser in front of the snow on the side of our driveway for posterity. So yes, in case you were wondering, we do indeed still have snow on the ground here.

Oh, and I almost forgot, Fraser is currently working hard on his next word "bubbles." He frequently gets a bubble bath at night (hey, just because I can't possibly seem to find time for a bubble bath doesn't mean I can't live vicariously through my child. So yes, he gets a foaming goats milk bath in wildflower scent. Sick isn't it?). So in the bathtub he works on saying bubbles, and when he watches the bubbles in the fish tank during meals he works on saying bubbles, and when we are at school and blowing bubbles he works on saying bubbles. Right now he basically says "bub bub." Which is really pretty close. (I would like it noted, for the universal Karmic record, that when his loving mother gives him a bath he works on saying "bubbles" and when his caring mommy feeds him meals he works on saying bubbles, and when his self-sacrificing mama schleps his butt to school and works with him for two hours there he works on saying bubbles. I am not bitter however, I am realistic. I am changing my name to Bubbles.
