On the way home from Fraser's kindermusic class today I suddenly, and for no apparent reason, remembered that yesterday when we went to the post office the very friendly postal employee who helped us gave Fraser a little walrus sticker which I stuck on the back of Fraser's left hand. Although this recollection may not be remarkable in itself (aside from the fact that lately I find it remarkable that I can remember anything that happened more than five minutes ago) I simultaneously realized that I have not seen said walrus sticker since we left the post office.
Now it is possible that the sticker could have simply fallen off in the parking lot as we left the post office and it is also possible that the sticker fell off at home and is now stuck to the bottom of some cat or dog paw, but it is perhaps more likely that Fraser, while sitting patiently in his car seat on the drive home from the post office, decided in a fit of ennui to eat said walrus sticker just for something to do. Of course I don't think it will do any lasting damage if he did ingest the sticker, but I'm a little concerned that it took a full 24 hours for me to realize that my son may have ingested a foreign object. I suddenly feel an overwhelming need to purge our home of anything non-edible that Fraser could possibly fit in his mouth.
On another note, I can now proudly proclaim that Fraser has given up his bottle. I feel confident in this declaration (unlike all those foolishly hopeful "Fraser is sleeping through the night" and "Fraser sleeps in his crib now" fantasies) because he hasn't actually had a bottle in almost three weeks. This is quite the landmark in my opinion, and I feel the need to celebrate an important transition from babyhood to toddler hood. And speaking of transitions, I put together Fraser's toddler bed yesterday and moved our bedroom around so his bed would be in the corner of our room, between our bed and the wall. My plan is to continue to allow him to fall asleep with us, but then start moving him into the toddler bed when he's asleep. This should progress to him falling asleep in his bed and then we will start moving his bed out of the corner and toward his new room. I don't have any idea if this will actually work, but I figure we have to try something so what the hell. Right now Fraser is actually napping in his toddler bed, so I have high hopes I may be on to something here.
And finally, here is a picture of Fraser napping in our bed that I took last week. I doesn't really have anything to do with this entry but I thought I'd include it because he just looks so damn cute.
