Eleanor is already 3 weeks old and, despite the extremely hot weather here, the time is just flying by. She is much more alert and interactive now, spending a larger and larger chunk of each day with her eyes open, checking out faces and turning toward noises. She is not, however, any more excited about bath time than she has been previously, and has now begun pooping in the tub, as well as screaming and flailing, to indicate her displeasure.

Hammie and Fraser have both been sick this week, which is weird and somewhat concerning. They have both been running high fevers and have also both taken long naps (okay, that part is kind of nice). We're supposed to go to a birthday party tomorrow, but I think that will have to be a game time decision based on how everyone is feeling.

Perhaps because he was feeling crummy, we had our first issue with Hammie and Eleanor today. Hammie wanted to get on my lap, but I was nursing Eleanor at the time so I told him to wait a minute. He apparently didn't like that answer so he tried to grab Eleanor's foot and drag her off the pillow she was lying on. Luckily i was holding on to her, so she didn't go anywhere and Hammie didn't even pull hard enough to make her break her latch, but I'm definitely a little more wary when Hammie gets close to Eleanor now.

We were very excited to learn that my cousin Leah gave birth to her third son this morning! Quinn Logan weighed in at eight pounds five ounces and is exactly three weeks younger than Eleanor. Thanksgiving with our extended family should be very very interesting with 6 small children tearing up the house.

Other than that, things here are pretty predictable, as far as total chaos can be considered predictable. I am looking forward to a break in the heat and humidity, though I haven't minded the excuse to eat a whole lot of ice cream these past few days.
