Yesterday we went to DPW Day in Fitchburg and the boys got to sit in all sorts of super cool DPW trucks and equipment. And if that wasn't exciting enough for one day, in the evening when Andy was sitting in the bathroom with Hammie on his lap waiting for Fraser to finish using the potty Andy pointed to the cover of one of his (many) tractor magazines which, not surprisingly, had a tractor on the front and said "Tractor Hammie. Can you say Tractor?" And then Hammie said "Tractor." Even I can't deny he said it. So, here you go honey, for posterity, on May 19, 2009 Hammie undeniably said "Tractor" for the first time. I swear Andy couldn't have been prouder (except possibly if Hammie had identified the model year too).

This morning we had one of those very rare moments that is just so sweet I want to cry. I came in from putting a load of wash in and Hammie and Fraser were in the play room with their backs to me. As I got closer I realized that Fraser was sitting with Hammie on his lap and his arms wrapped around Hammie's shoulders. Fraser was explaining to Hammie that the screens in the windows were for keeping the bugs outside. Hammie was just looking at Fraser like this was the most fascinating conversation he had ever taken part in. These are definitely the sorts of moments I need to take mental videos of so I can replay them in my head and keep perspective when all hell breaks loose 5 minutes later.
