Here are Fraser and Hammie sharing a ride on their new Vespa from Keekey and Grandpa. This moment of brotherly love didn't last too long of course, and they were back to smacking each other in the head and trying to squish each other into the carpet, but when those brief moments do come they really are adorable.

Andy went with me for my follow up ultrasound today, and as far as the tech could tell everything looks good. They baby was moving around so much she actually had trouble getting his heart rate reading and her comment was, "Wow, this one is really a mover and a shaker!" She thought the placenta looked great and said that the prior ultrasound had a note on it from the radiologist hypothesizing that the bleeding he saw was due to a hemorrhage at the site of implantation. Basically she said not to worry, things look good, see you in a month or so.

Needless to say I am feeling very relieved and probably for the first time I suddenly find myself giddy-happy to be pregnant. Of course some of this is probably just due to that wonderful second trimester optimism that God gives us to make up for the first trimester barfiness. Now I'm thinking, "I can handle three kids in a little more than three years! The money will come from somewhere! I love being pregnant!" Okay, that last one might still be a bit of a stretch.

The giddiness is also helped along by the fact that Hammie has started sleeping in his own bed for most if not all of all the night now. He even slept until 6:00 this morning, which may actually be the latest he has slept, ever. And Fraser has also started the most surprising behavior. Every so often now he will decide he wants to sit on the potty and he will just take off his pants and diaper and go to it. He doesn't actually pee most of the time, but I am very encouraged that he is showing both interest and initiative.

So, all in all I am feeling very happy and very optimistic about my kids and life in general. This, it strikes me, is a very nice change from how I have been feeling lately and I plan to enjoy it fully for as long as it lasts.
