Happy 8 month birthday to Hammie! Okay, so Hammie's birthday was actually almost a week ago and, to be honest, I didn't take this picture until today, but we were on vacation in Maine during Hammie's actual birthday and we had both bathrooms redone while we were gone, which weren't quite finished when we got home, so unpacking has been an ongoing disaster and it took me awhile to unearth the camera and, finally, our printer ran out of ink so poor Hammie doesn't even get his 8 month sign. Yes, it's nice to know we still reside in the land of happy chaos.

On a nicer note (for Hammie at least) Hammie has definitely moved beyond his three-legged-frog crawl and is now fully mobile, as you can see in the video. Nice for him, a little more stressful for an already pretty strung out mommy though.

We had a wonderful and very relaxing vacation in Maine, and Fraser had a fabulous time checking out all the boats and planes and bikes and lawnmowers on the island. Unfortunately this means he is doubly depressed now that we are home. Not only are there no exciting boats or planes here (at breakfast his conversation with himself goes something like this "No sailboat, sailboat in Maine, no motorboat, no ferry boat, no ai-de-plane, plane in Maine") but he also goes from having a house full of people to hang out with to having only me and at his brother to stare at all day long, this results in conversations each days that go something like this:

Fraser: "Daddy home?"

Mommy: "No, Daddy's at work."

Fraser: "Oh. Keekey here?"

Mommy: "No, Keekey is in Maine with Grandpa"

Fraser: "Oh. Ba in Maine."

Mommy: "Yes"

Fraser: "Daddy home?"

Mommy: "No honey, Daddy is at work, he won't be home until late."

Fraser: "Oh. Daddy in Maine?"

Mommy: "No. Daddy is at work."

Fraser: "Daddy home?"

Mommy: "No, Daddy is at work. Can you please get mommy a beer from the fridge now?"
