Happy Six Month Birthday (yesterday) to Hammie! Hammie is now an entire half-a-year-old which is just amazing to me. As you can see in his photo he is in a much better mood than he has been recently, which we all appreciate!

On Thursday morning, after a very very bad night and after Hammie had only eaten about 2 ounces in 15 hours I decided it was time to call the pediatrician. His guess is that Hammie has acid reflux (this seems to be his guess for a lot of things though) and Hammie may have a milk allergy like Fraser did. So now Hammie is on special Formula and special acid reflux meds (he's a special child). Hammie is eating closer to a normal amount and he does seem much happier. Since the acid reflux meds were supposed to take a few days to work, I think it is the new formula that is working for him.

That said, he still didn't have a great night last night. He slept in 45 minute increments from 2 to 4 (he had already been up twice before 2:00) and then cried from 4 to 5. Yeah fun. He wasn't hungry, he had a clean diaper, and I tried wrapping him and unwrapping him, dressing and undressing him, holding him and putting him down, but nothing worked. He did actually fall asleep on the changing table when I was changing his diaper, but he woke up when I tried to move him. (When I mentioned this to Andy he said "why didn't you just leave him on the changing table?" so I replied that was ridiculous and Andy said "Why not? That's what the strap is for." No honey, no it isn't.

So now Hammie gets to enjoy being the special birthday boy this week as we gear up for Fraser's second birthday next weekend. I simply cannot believe he is going to be two. They are both getting so big! (On a side note, at school on Friday Fraser was able to climb the ladder of the play unit by himself for the very first time ever. When he got to the top he was SO proud of himself. It might just have been the cutest thing ever.)
