Name: Henry Alexzander McBeth ("Hammie" to my friends)
Height: 25 1/2 inches
Weight: 17 1/2ish pounds
Likes: My feet, sticking out my tongue, drooling, breastfeeding 20 times a day, my big brother.
Dislikes: My car seat, when no one is paying attention to me, being smacked in the head by my big brother.
Favorite Toys: My feet, my fingers, the spinning monkeys on the exersaucer. Did I mention my feet?
Favorite Pets: I have pets?
Favorite Place to Pee: On the changing table while mommy isn't looking and doesn't realize I have soaked my outfit until she puts the damn thing back on.
Looking back at Fraser's 5 month photo and questionnaire really puts into perspective for me how totally different they are. Most obviously, Hammie looks so little compared to Fraser. Fraser did already outweigh Hammie by almost 2 pounds at this point, and his head was noticeably larger.
Less obviously, in Fraser's picture he is looking right at the camera and giving his best "Look how freaking cute I am!" smile. Fraser, in fact, loved and still loves the camera. Whenever I take it out he poses and smiles and if, god forbid, I try to take a picture of Hammie by himself Fraser will look shocked and indignant and then try to sidle into the shot. Hammie, on the other hand, seems only vaguely aware of the camera most of the time, and would much rather look at what Fraser is doing or what is going on outside than at mommy who is making all sorts of strange noises and faces behind the lens.
Also, in case your didn't pick up on the subtle reference above, Hammie is fascinated with his feet right now. If he is focused on his feet it is virtually impossible to interest him in anything else. Fraser, on the other hand, could not reach his feet by this point. Although Fraser's picture makes it look like he was sitting up much better than Hammie at this point, in reality Fraser couldn't really fold himself forward the way Hammie is doing since Fraser was so much more solid.
So, although they may be brothers, I appreciate more and more each day that I can't expect Hammie to grow or change or act just like Fraser (which is sometimes a very good thing.)
